Bryan Beck, President

Since joining The Beck Group in 2003, Mr. Beck has been involved a wide variety of planning and consulting projects.  He served as project manager for a number of planning projects including feasibility studies and timber valuation systems, has organized and overseen in-mill log tests, and has contributed to several legal expert witness reports.

Bryan’s recent work includes multiple acquisition due diligence projects, facility appraisal and valuation projects, timber and biomass supply/demand studies, and business plan development assistance.

He also has been involved in a number of capital planning, sawmill modernization, and new facility feasibility studies.  As a part of these projects, Bryan has analyzed the benefits of installing or upgrading optimization technology; has predicted impacts on piece counts at machine centers and the related effects on mill flow; has assessed timber supply to determine appropriate equipment configurations; and has determined financial impacts related to lumber recovery, productivity, and product yield changes.

Other projects he has been a part of include lumber market surveys, competitive assessment (benchmarking) studies in various wood product segments, and operational audits.

Prior to joining The Beck Group, Bryan worked for Zip-O-Log Mills in Eugene, OR, a company specializing in custom timbers and clear lumber.  Mr. Beck’s experience also includes working jointly with Jeld-Wen and Neste Resins to optimize resin formula and implementation in Jeld-Wen’s MDF door skin production.  He also has worked in sawmill quality control for a dimension lumber producer and participated in market research for Chilean radiata pine exports.

In addition, Mr. Beck has worked in custom home construction and custom cabinetry.
